Vel Mining is a vertically integrated chrome producer — running a 102 tph wash plant in Mooinooi, scaling to 120 tph within 3 months, with an in-house logistics arm. Our one-year objective is to plug City Deep into full synergy with our Durban port warehouse, completing 90% of the supply chain from ore to client under one operator.

Specialist Service
Tailings treatment from 12% upwards.
We specialise in treating third-party and historical tailings from 12% Cr₂O₃ upwards, recovering saleable concentrate from material most operators write off. Two commercial structures are available:
50 / 50 Product Split
We wash your tailings at our cost and the recovered concentrate is split equally — no cash outlay from your side.
Flat Treatment Fee
A fixed per-ton treatment fee, priced according to the grade and washability of the tailings supplied. You retain 100% of the product.
Next 12 Months
A second 120 tph plant and full FOB out of City Deep.
Within the next year Vel Mining will bring a second 120 tph wash plant online, taking group capacity to 240 tph. Alongside it, our City Deep facility will offer a complete FOB option — including in-house packaging, bagging, and container stuffing — so buyers can take delivery on FOB terms directly out of City Deep and Durban port.
